Jacqueline Wills is a theater artist, writer, and digital creator based in Philadelphia, PA.
She grew up in the DC area, first auditioning at five years old, but has been performing since in utero. She was Editor and Chief of her self funded fourth grade classroom newspaper, The Good News Daily and booked her first radio spot at age nine. She founded her first summer stock theatre company, The Players, in middle school.
As a young artist, she trained at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.
Jacqueline holds a BA in Theater Directing from Columbia College Chicago with a Minor in Live and Performing Arts Management. Previously, she studied Social Work and Cultural Studies at Chatham University.
Jacqueline's entrepreneurial spirit has formed her artistic path; from revamping a drama club for students on her college campus, to producing and directing her own work, to shaping accredited youth drama curriculum, and starting multiple businesses.
She has collaborated with Signature Theater, Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama, Chatham University’s Media Arts, Pittsburgh Film Office, The Goodman Theatre, Raven Theatre, The Den Theatre, Simantikos Dance Chicago, The Chicago International Film Festival, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and the Philadelphia Film Society.
As an artist, Jacqueline’s work uncovers what’s hidden in the back of the generational closet with both tenderness and humor. Interested in unraveling how we got here; Jacqueline’s work examines womanhood, addiction, family, and the stories that shape us. As a performing artist, she is interested in portraying difficult women.
As an arts worker, Jacqueline has worked in many corners of the entertainment industry in her lifelong career, including education, marketing, development, dramaturgy, production, casting, management, and more.
She is currently seeking production and direction for her solo show, Don’t Worry.
She draws inspiration from Broadway divas, throw pillows, flower gardens, and any beginner’s art class. You can find her sharing about style, art, and living both onstage and online.
She makes art for the theater kid inside; the "too" sensitive, dramatic, loud, intense, silly, weird. 5, 6, 7, 8! ✨ 🎭training + certifications
